my thoughts from a painters eye
My name is Adam Chmielewski.
I was born in Ostroda, north eastern part of Poland. I finished an art highschool with a ceramic diploma. Now I am studying 2 nd year in painting department in Fine Arts Academy in Wroclaw. I m painting and drawing in Nicole Nescows studio, room nr 205.
I visited other academies in Gdansk, Poznan, Krakow, Paris and Amsterdam. My purpose was to compare both the way and level of painting there. Except for the academy in Krakow they all disappointed me.
In coming years I meant to learn more about technology techniques of painting. Happily it is still possible in Poland. I m not into commonly known tendencies in painting especially hyper realistic objects. As for me something that looks like a photo camera view is an opposite of a painters look. Why somebody uses the perspective of a machine to show the reality he sees with his own eyes? Painting is something else. It is an area which is bound to give answers for artist questions and goals.
Last year I focused on a value of colour itself and the interplay of a multi colour painting. I made still lifes and landscapes- more or less realistic even half abstract. I tried to find an unique atmosphere in each one of pictures. Now I follow the figurative painting. Group scenes may become a pretext of creating an interesting proposal governed by its own rules and rights. I have a lot of respect for masters of painting, At the present I create influenced by works of El Greco, Paul Gauguin, Jeremy Nouosielski and Tedeusz Piotr Potwovowski. I am also interested in making graphic, photos and ceramics.
